Life on this earth would not be conceivable without water, the substance of life and its magical elixir. The Quran discusses a number of water-related phenomena, including the sending of rainfall, the layers of darkness and internal waves in the oceans, the different colors of the seas, and the barrier separating fresh and salt water, in addition to stating that all living things were created from water. One of the greatest oceanographers in West Germany, Professor Schroeder, once said, "Religion must definitely withdraw as science advances.
